Sterling Power Training are leading experts in the field of operating and working on HV and LV electricity networks. Sterling Power Training have many years of experience, both within the UK electricity supply industry and with organisations operating their own HV and LV networks, of formulating policy and safety rules for the safe operation and work on electricity networks

Training – Sterling Power Training can offer standard courses or bespoke training to meet your requirements, for example:

  • HV & LV Switching Pre-Authorisation training
  • Authorised & Senior Authorised Person training (HV & LV networks)
  • Re-fresher training for electrical authorised and Senior Authorised staff (various modules)
  • Electrical safety for technical and non-technical personnel

Sterling Power Training’s fully operational training network operating at 11,000 volts, with a large number of interconnected substations, provides a good cross-section of high and low voltage switchgear and associated substation equipment currently found on electricity distribution networks and provides a realistic, but totally controlled training environment.

Courses can be based on Sterling Power Training’s standard courses or designed to meet your specific needs (please see ‘Technical Authoring’).

Training can be based around your own safety rules and procedures, or alternatively using Sterling Power Training’s safety rules, which can be customised to meet the requirements of your organisation.

Safety Rules
– Sterling Power Training can prepare and produce safety rules, safety codes of practice, method statements, etc. tailored to your requirements (please see ‘Technical Authoring’).

Assessments
– Sterling Power Training can also assess the competence of your staff to undertake specific duties - a service unique to SPT - and can act as your ‘Authorising Agent’ for the issue of Authorisation Certificates appropriate for the duties they will undertake  (please see ‘Assessment and Authorisation’)
